General Lee for $10 Million? ( 4 Comments )

[ Snicker 05/10/2007 @ 4:00 PM ]

I'm a little late posting this but John Schneider has recently posted his General Lee up for sale on Ebay. The winning bid went for a hair under $10 million dollars. What the heck?!?! This was a nice car for sure and one that was featured in a reunion movie but man, that seemed a little high. Well, it turns out the winning bid was in fact fake and that the bidder didn't actually intend to pay for the car. Let me know if anyone hears updates on someone who actually buys the car. It has been an interesting story to follow. Here is some more info: http://www.cnn.com/2007/AUTOS/05/10/general_lee/index.html

DoH: The Beginning Media Coverage ( 3 Comments )

Cinema Source has a couple interesting articles covering the DoH: The Beginning movie. First up is an interview with Jonathan Bennett. Next, they have a full review of the movie.

DoH: The Beginning ( 11 Comments )

[ Snicker 03/04/2007 @ 10:56 AM ]

The new "Made for TV" movie Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning is released tonight on the ABC Family channel at 7pm CST. There has been an extremely low amount of buzz for this movie so I don't know what to expect. The story is set to show the Duke boys in the early days and is supposed to give a lot of background history. For more information: http://abcfamily.go.com/dukeboys/

Before they were legends Bo and Luke Duke (Jonathan Bennett, Randy Wayne) were just two good ol’ boys sent to live with their Uncle Jesse (Willie Nelson) in Hazzard County, Georgia. Is it their fault that Boss Hogg (Christopher McDonald), a corrupt city official, has it in for Jesse just because he’s a moonshiner? It’s Bo and Luke’s duty to make as much trouble as they can and have as much fun as humanly possible. Joined by their cousin Daisy (April Scott), their friend Cooter (Joel Moore) and the rest of the Hazzard gang, Bo and Luke prove that the beginning of a legend is the best part.

"Lee 1 has been given a place of distinct honor in this year's Indianapolis Auto Show," says the owner of Lee 1. "Never before has the auto show been able to make a special place in their event for such a special automobile. The sponsors of this event are excited to have Lee 1 join them to help showcase the restoration of an American icon now known as Lee 1."

Lee 1 made the very first jump for "The Dukes of Hazzard," at Oxford College in Georgia on November 11, 1978, for the show's pilot episode. It later appeared (repainted) as the wrecked Petty car in the fourth episode, "Repo Men." It sat in a Metro Atlanta junkyard for 24 years before being recovered in 2001. Team Lee 1 spent the past year and a half restoring the car to the condition it was in when it left the ramp at Oxford College.

Lee 1 will appear just inside the entrance of the auto show, at the Indiana Convention Center and RCA Dome at 100 S. Capital in downtown Indianapolis, an easy walk from The Ram Restaurant. Dates are December 28 and 29. The Lee 1 Family Christmas will include a special showing of Lee 1 after 3:15 p.m. on December 28.

To learn more about the Indianapolis Auto Show, visit www.indyautoshow.com. The admission for the show and to see Lee 1 is all the same: $6 for adults, with children under 12 admitted free, and active members of the military, police and fire departments admitted free.

Everyone is invited to the Lee 1 Family Christmas! This is a special opportunity for our more-Northern-based "Dukes" fans who might not have been able to make it to some of the Southern-based events such as the unveiling in Covington, Georgia. This Indianapolis appearance is part of Lee 1's two-year tour leading up to its 30th anniversary in 2008.

So make your travel plans to join us! We'd like to get an idea of how many folks are coming, so please RSVP to GenLeeOne@aol.com.

[ Bo 11/12/2006 @ 9:00 PM ]

According to Schneider, who currently co-stars in the TV show "Smallville," he and a stunt coordinator were towing three vehicles used in the his new movie "Collier & Co.," when a deafening blast forced the men to pull over. The two men were shocked to find that a bullet had ripped through the wing window of a Dodge Charger they were towing, which had been used as a stunt car in the film. Despite the scare, both men were unharmed and still managed to make it on time to the sold-out premiere.

Coy Duke to visit Essex County in Canada ( 2 Comments )

[ Snicker 08/06/2006 @ 09:49 AM ]

Paul Harrington has met all the surviving cast and crew from the original show, he even drove down to the state of Louisiana to be part of the Dukes of Hazzard 2005 movie, seeing himself 5 times, it made it worth it. There is a TV Show called Fanatical coming out in September, and he was pegged as " CANADA'S BIGGEST DUKES OF HAZZARD FAN ". So, when it came to putting this years event together he consulted Jerry Rushing " The Original Duke Boy ", and with his help, we were able to get Byron Cherry aka " COY DUKE ".

Making his first appearance in Ontario, Byron Cherry aka " COY DUKE ", Daisy Duke's cousin, will be right here in Essex County, attending HAIR DARE DUKES DAY for Cancer Research Event, at Colasanti's Tropical Gardens for a day and 1/2 of family fun. Flying into Metro Airport On Thursday August 10th, Byron wanted to be here early so he could help promote the event, in any way he could.

The plan of events are too many but there is a special " DINNER WITH THE STARS ", which is going to be held at Colasanti's Tropical Gardens, August 12th, 2006 between 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm, you can get your tickets now before they run out, as the hall only holds 80 people. The evening will have a photo opportunity for the fans that show up along with getting his autograph on an item you bring ( This is for ticket holders only, for the dinner ). The Car Show is on August 13 th, 2006, between the hours of 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, with many things to do, and see. Byron will be signing autographs through out the day, he has agreed to sign any TV & Movie Star Cars that show up. If you want to see a real live Duke Boy, DROP DOWN TO ONTARIO, CANADA.

The event will have dozens of TV and Movie Star Cars as seen in many shows / movies. The General Lee, The Hazzard County Sheriff's cars, The Hazzard County Sheriff Marine Unit Speed Boat, The Canadian Dukes of Hazzard Traveling Museum, The A Team van, K.I.T.T. from Knight Rider, The Starsky & Hutch Grand Torino, The MAD MAXX car 1, The Bat Boat as seen in the 1966 Bat Man movie, Herbie the Luv Bug, The Blues Brothers Car, plus 100's of more very cool cars, as All Years, Makes, and Models are allowed to enter this Car Show, and there is No Registration Fees. Bat Man maybe even Robin will show up for photos with the Bat Boat, even Star Wars cast dressed up in full costumes. There will be plenty to do and see, as we have a Daisy Duke Look A Like Contest, Engine Blow Up, Smack A Wreck, Get a Ride in a TV Star Car, and dozens of Photo Opportunities to snap some great pictures to remember this great weekend.

Paul Harrington Started this event back in July 2003, as his Mother was diagnosed with Cancer, and it is the hardest thing to live with, but we take one day at a time, and pray alot. I clipped my 15" pony tail off for Wigs for Kids at the first one, and every year after that I have my head shaved the day of the event, but I to get pledges to Raise money for the cause. The last couple of years it seems like we get a little rained on, but to me it's tears from above.

Please check out the web site for a poster that you can download and print, www.CanadianDukes.com and go to Up Coming Events. There is a YaHoo group that I started pertaining to this event called : http://tv.groups.yahoo.com/group/Hair_Dare_Dukes_Day_for_Cancer/ , IT'S FREE TO JOIN.

This years event is sponsored by Chochis Pizza, Elford & Stowe Ltd., Cottam Transmission, J & B Auto Sales, J & B Auto Recyclers, and of course Harrington's company called PH Productions

We are looking at beating the amount we raised last year, so let's get out there and enjoy the festivities.

New Movie, New Daisy ( 13 Comments )

[ Snicker 06/08/2006 @ 11:56 AM ]

Well, word is starting to come in on a new cast who will be playing the roles in the new Dukes of Hazzard movie. The movie is a straight to DVD movie which isn't thrilling. The story line is supposed to cover the Duke boys when they are a lot younger. Does this mean the General Lee won't be exactly the same? Interesting. US Weekly is reporting that April Scott has gotten the new role of Daisy Duke. She is previously known as the briefcase opener in Deal or No Deal. She has also modeled for Maxim Magazine. More to come as we get it...

New 'Dukes' Movie...2008? ( 10 Comments )

[ GADuke01 03/07/2006 @ 2:35 PM ]

Hi everybody. I just wanted to pass along some information that I received on Sunday after speaking with Mr. Don Schisler, the in charge of the first General Lees ever built for 'The Dukes of Hazzard'. Without me asking him about the possiblity of another 'Dukes' movie, he said, "I don't know if you've heard, but there's definately another movie in the works. Although it's probably a couple of years away, I've heard that they're going to do it right this time as far as the casting and and story goes." I know that rumors about the possiblity of another 'Dukes' feature film have posted on various websites, but Don Schisler, who still works in the film and television industry with his son, is really the the first person in the business that I've heard mention the possiblity of another movie.
